Jimmie Sanford has spent more than three decades shaping the spirit and artistry of modern cheerleading. As a former Vice President of one of the largest cheerleading organizations in the world under Varsity, he helped develop choreography, music, and curriculum that inspired countless athletes and coaches nationwide.

A creative force both on and off the sidelines, Jimmie has choreographed for the NFL Pro Bowl Halftime Shows, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Hollywood Christmas Parade, and Disney’s Very Merry Christmas Parade. His work has also been showcased by professional teams including the NFL Pro Bowl Cheerleaders, San Diego Charger Girls, Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, and the Golden State Warriors Dance Team.

Throughout his career, Jimmie’s passion for teaching has taken him around the world — sharing the fundamentals of cheerleading, choreography, and performance excellence across Tokyo, Singapore, Malaysia, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Australia, London, and Paris. In the U.S., he’s coached and choreographed national championship teams at the high school, all-star, and collegiate levels, shaping athletes into confident, capable leaders both on and off the mat.

Today, through Cheer Guru Nation and his newsletter Big Cheer Energy, Jimmie brings that same experience and inspiration directly to the cheer community. His mission is to build a more inclusive, connected, and uplifting industry — one where every coach and athlete feels empowered, represented, and supported.
